Our Mission

Before we speak of our mission, we must first remember God’s Prior Mission to send His Son to save and gather us around Himself (Eze. 34:11-‐15; Jn. 10:14-‐16). The eternal mission of the Father, Son and Spirit to gather a redeemed people from every nation around the throne of Christ has been revealed to us in the gospel (Isa. 49:6; Lk. 24:44-‐49). In His Mission, God has first found us, and now graciously calls us as his fellow workers and partners in the gospel.
Therefore, under Christ Jesus our Lord, saints at Enfield and Strathfield Anglican church, we Gather, Grow, and Go.

Because of what God has done for us in Christ (Col. 1:15-‐23; Eph. 1:3-‐14), who we are (Heb. 12:22-‐24), and what will be (Rev. 21:1-‐4), we prioritise gathering together to hear God’s word in faith and repentance each day. We commit to gather in our families, weekly Sunday services, weekly small groups, and as two or three in Christ’s name (Matt. 18:20), to express the gift of fellowship we have with God and with each other (1 Jn. 1:3), and to spur one another as we seek ‘the city that is to come’ (Heb. 10:24-‐25; 13:14).

Known, loved and gathered by God (Gal. 4:9; 1 Jn. 4:9-‐10), we strive to grow together in holiness and righteousness as one body in one Spirit under one Lord Jesus (Eph. 4:9-‐16; Col. 1:9-‐10). As Christ’s fellow-‐workers, we serve one another in mutual ministry with the varied gifts of grace God has given us (1 Pet. 4:7-‐11), ruled by love in all that we do and say (1 Cor. 13) to the glory of God.

As we grow in Christ likeness, we share his concern for the lost and align our lives to God’s mission of saving sinners through the gospel proclamation (2 Cor. 5:11-‐6:2; 1 Pet. 2:9-‐10). So each of us go into the world as disciple-‐making disciples to gather the elect (Matt. 28:18-‐ 20). We support one another in this task by prayer, sharing of physical and spiritual sustenance, words of encouragement, partnering in evangelistic missions, sending missionaries and training future gospel workers (Col. 4:3; Rom. 15:24-‐26; Phil. 1:5, 27-‐30).
